'Penfolds', installation details from 'CODED' exhibition, Blacktown Arts Centre. Curated by Sophia Kouyoumdjian
'Penfolds' (detail). Laser-etched found materials. 30 x 15 cm. Masonite, paint. 2010.
Laser-etched masonsite from Penfolds Brewery, Minchinbury New South Wales. Masonite fragments littered the site, in heritage and industrial colours. Also, repairs and graffiti cover-ups were done in a similar colour palette, in an often futile attempt to attempt to restore/locate the site as a space of 'heritage', rather than vandalism and illict suburban play.
'Penfolds' (detail). Laser-etched found materials. 10 x 27 cm. Masonite, paint. 2010.
Laser-etched  masonsite from Penfolds Brewery, Minchinbury New South Wales. Abstracted drawn walking routes and site details were etched onto found materials. This worked to reveal layers of paint, grime and graffiti, while adding new traces also.
'Penfolds' (details). Expired polaroid 600 film. 10 x 8 cm (each). 2010.
Polaroids from the site, which were exhibited alongside found laser etched materials. Instant photos were used to document the walking routes, the rich sensory experience and the uncanny architectural spaces and contradictions of the Penfolds Brewery Site.
